GLASS AND CRYSTAL SILVER PLATING
Silver plating is the practice by which a transparent glass becomes a mirror. The process consists in many phases, starting from the glass cleaning, going through the silver drying, to ending with the spreading of the protective materials.
Silver plating is a glass processing which allows the production of different mirrors, such as tempered, partial tempered and antiqued mirrors.
Antiqued mirrors are very characteristic and are well known for their hues that can have one or more colours. To create this product, the transparent glass undergoes different treatments with oxide and other secret mixture in order to create the desired effect.
The differences in antique mirrors mainly depend from the numbers of passages that the glass has undergone with silver and oxide.
